On September 2nd, 2022, The Humane Society of Skagit Valley (HSSV) assisted the Skagit County Sheriff’s Department in rescuing 126 dogs from a suspected hoarding situation/puppy mill. The dogs were in absolutely heartbreaking shape, living in deplorable conditions.

Situation Update from HSSV As of Wednesday, 9/28/22, all 126 dogs seized have been released to the Humane Society of Skagit Valley. We continue to provide our lifesaving efforts to these pups. New COVID-19 Guidelines

COVID continues to be a dangerous and deadly virus. The Delta Variant has led to a marked increase in cases statewide. As such, HSSV has determined that all staff will continue to wear face coverings and visitors are strongly urged to do the same, even if fully vaccinated. We’re proud to have partnered with Greater Good Charities, Wings of Rescue, and many other wonderful organizations for Paws Across the Pacific – the largest pet rescue flight in history!
