We are learning, like everyone else, a new normal and are aspiring to operate our shelter in a safe and healthy manner. Our utmost priority is serving animals in need while also protecting our staff, volunteers, and community members. Shelter Closing to Public

Due to the possibility of exposure to the virus, The Humane Society of Skagit Valley has made the difficult decision to close its shelter doors to the public once again, for the foreseeable future. This decision was not an easy one, but one we take very seriously. HSSV Thrift Shop Updates

UPDATE: We are now closed on Sundays for the foreseeable future. We will update if that changes. We had the soft re-opening of our thrift shop in Mt Vernon yesterday. Shelter Reopening Status Update

We anticipate that being the case on approximately June 1st. After that point, we’ll open our doors to the public once again. However, we will still require that visitors wear masks when visiting the shelter. We…

Inslee announces “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order

Dear friends of HSSV: Based on Governor Enslee’s statement this evening, we would like to impress upon you all how important it is at this time for people to keep their animals indoors as much as possible and supervise well if outdoors. This is always important, but even more so now, due to the fact that HSSV will need to limit our services even further. We are responsible for the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and animals and…
