On September 2nd, 2022, The Humane Society of Skagit Valley (HSSV) assisted the Skagit County Sheriff’s Department in rescuing 126 dogs from a suspected hoarding situation/puppy mill. The dogs were in absolutely heartbreaking shape, living in deplorable conditions.

Situation Update from HSSV As of Wednesday, 9/28/22, all 126 dogs seized have been released to the Humane Society of Skagit Valley. We continue to provide our lifesaving efforts to these pups. We will be working in phases, as all of them are heavily infested with a variety of intestinal parasites – along with severe dental disease, ocular issues, and other medical conditions that need to be addressed.  Our priority now is to focus on those conditions.
