How You can help
There are many, many ways to be an advocate for animals in need. Browse below & pick those that suit you best. Thank you for your support of The Humane Society of Skagit Valley!
Donate
Your donations help us to continue to provide care and safety for those among us without a voice. Your gift helps to provide a sceond chance at life to abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, every day.
Monthly Donor
Our sustaining donors are our lifeblood. They help us to continue our good works and allow us to anticipate our financial support from month to month. A monthly gift makes a lasting impact.
Capital Campaign Fund
Our shelter is showing wear and tear after many years of caring for animals in need. A gift to our Capital Campaign Fund will help us pay for vital upgrades and repairs.
Spay & Neuter Clinic
Our goal is to bring a complete spay & neuter clinic onsite to the shelter, to allow us to alter pets entering our facility, but also offer low income alterations for those in need.
Maggie's Legacy
Maggie’s Legacy is a donation-based program to help assist pet owners of Skagit Valley in need of financial assistance in paying for a portion of trauma-related veterinary issues.
Membership
An annual membership with HSSV helps to support our mission on an annual basis. We offer individual, family, and lifetime memberships.
Planned Giving
Remember HSSV in your planned giving for a lasting impact on animal advocacy. Including us in your Will, Trust, or other estate plans allows us to continue our mission well into the future.
Vehicle Donation
Donating your vehicle to the Humane Society of Skagit Valley is a great way to support our work. Proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle will help us continue our mission.
Memorial
There are a couple different ways to celebrate and remember the life of a loved one. Post a memorial on our Memorial Wall or purchase a Memory Tile to adorn the walls of our shelter.
Wishlist
The items on our wishlists help keep our expenses down so that we may help even more animals in need. You may order online for delivery directly to the shelter, or drop off your donation in person.
Volunteer
Our shelter has a small staff for a reason. We prefer the majority of our funds go towards helping animals in need, rather than high overhead. That’s why volunteers are so important to helping us meet our goals. There are many volunteer opportunities at HSSV, let us help you find the right one for you and your lifestyle.
Foster
Fostering is a great way to help us at HSSV. Fostering provides temporary housing for an animal until her or she is ready for adoption. Our program exists to give young animals a chance to grow big & strong before spay/neuter, and to give injured, sick, or under-socialized animals an opportunity to heal.
Sponsor a Barn Buddy
Consider sponsoring a Barn Buddy! Your sponsorship will help feed and care for cats in the program who would otherwise have no one to care for them. All of the rescued feral and semi-feral cats at HSSV find a safe haven here until they can find that special family to take them to a home of their own.
Shop our Thrift Shop
Shopping at our Thrift Shop is a win/win opportunity! You get cool second hand items and we get the funds that we need to continue our life-saving programs! The Skagit Humane Thrift Shop is located in the former Value Village strip mall on East College Way at 525 E College Way, Suite “G”, in M.V.
WoofTrax
Don’t just take your dog for a walk… Take your Walk for a Dog!
The more people actively walking with the free Walk for a Dog app, the greater the donation to your selected animal organization! Use the app each time you grab for the leash. It’s healthy for you, your dog, and your favorite shelter or rescue.
Help Drive Change
Purchase your car license plate from the Washington Federation of Animal Care Agencies to support much needed spay and neuter grants. A portion of every purchases goes to the federation for redistribution to animal welfare organizations with spay ane neuter programs. Show your support, every time you drive!
Workplace Giving
There are many opportunites for Workplace Giving. From supply and donation drives to company matching funds, the Combined Federal Campaign, and many more – there have never been more ways to give easily to our shelter and mission.

we depend on you!
HSSV is funded almost entirely by community giving and sales from our Thrift Shop. We do not have big government contracts or wealthy benefactors so we depend heavily on support from our community. Thank you for helping us to continue our very important mission through your giving!
