It is the mission of the Humane Society of Skagit Valley to provide a safe haven to shelter and care for the abandoned, abused, or unwanted animals within Skagit County; to treat the animals with dignity and respect; to place these animals into loving and caring homes; to create public education programs that increase the awareness of humane treatment and the necessity of spay and neuter of all animals; and to coordinate resources for housing and placement of small animals evacuated during disaster.

126 Dogs Seized From Skagit Property

More than 100 dogs were seized from a property in Skagit County where they were living in deplorable conditions. The Humane Society of Skagit Valley was there to step in and lead the way in rescuing these pups and helping them get back to health and finding them happy homes.

HSSV Participates is Historical Rescue Pet Transfer

We’re proud to have partnered with Greater Good Charities, Wings of Rescue, and many other wonderful organizations for Paws Across the Pacific – the largest pet rescue flight in history! Over 600 pet passengers flew from Hawaii to the Pacific Northwest to find loving homes.

HSSV Awarded Grant from Swinomish Indian Tribal Community

The Humane Society of Skagit Valley (HSSV) is pleased to announce we have received a $25,000 grant from the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. These funds will support the 2020 HSSV Building Repair and Improvement Project, expected to reach completion in 2021. HSSV is deeply grateful for this opportunity and the trust bestowed upon us through this grant.
