We have a slightly higher fee for dogs or cats that are easily adopted. The smaller dogs often have the highest adoption fees. The higher fees on the “easily adoptable” pets help us to keep the harder-to-place pets until they too find a home. At our shelter, we prioritize finding the best possible match for each of the animals in our care.
For dogs, we do not operate on a “first come, first served” basis, as most of our dogs receive multiple applications. Our decisions are based on careful consideration of the breed’s needs and the individual dog’s requirements, ensuring they are placed in the most suitable environment. We encourage all potential adopters to thoroughly research the breed and honestly assess whether they can meet its specific needs, including energy levels and habits unique to each breed or mix.
Our experienced staff conducts temperament assessments to help guide your decision-making process. They are readily available to provide detailed information about our animals.
All adopted animals are spayed or neutered before leaving our facility. If the pet was a stray, they must have been at the shelter for 72 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) before becoming available for adoption.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Find Your Pet: Browse our available animals online or visit our shelter in person.
Submit an Application: Complete your adoption application either online or at our shelter. We will ask for either proof of ownership of your home or contact information for your landlord to verify pets will be allowed.
Meet the Pet: Come in to meet the pet you are interested in. If adopting a dog, we recommend spending quality time with him/her outside of their kennel to get to know their true personality. Many dogs do not present well in their kennel and need time out of their kennel for their personality to come through. Quick visits may not fully showcase their nature. We’ll set you up in a visiting room or play yard to interact with the dog, depending on what’s appropriate for their needs.
Meet and Greet (if applicable): If you already have a dog, we strongly recommend bringing them in for a scheduled “meet and greet” to ensure compatibility. Please ensure your dog is up-to-date on vaccines for their safety.
We are committed to ensuring a successful match between our pets and their adoptive families. Our goal is to make the adoption process a positive experience for everyone involved.

Your yard pictures must show the entire fence so that the staff can assess its security. We do not accept out of county checks, but do accept cash, VISA or Mastercard.
